Signalling and Command-Control

IKOS’ expertise is historically in railway signalling systems, a central element in railways. Confronted with the challenges of interoperability and the increasing density of the network, IKOS contributes to the development of all systems, including CBTC, ERTMS, and interlocking systems. Our engineers assist in technologically complex projects, including onboard, trackside, and train supervision systems. These are among the most respected and used globally.

In recognition of our signalling expertise and collaboration with our OCY Technologies design office, we were awarded our 13100 classifications by the SNCF. This has enabled us to take part in various types of signalling studies in France and to ensure total V-model coverage.

IKOS conducts rail traffic modeling studies to verify the conformity of the electrical installations (substation and catenary) with the European standards, the STIs, and the new traffic forecasts. IKOS is studying the modernization of the Marseilles/Aix-en-Provence line and frugal electrification for many French railway lines.

Centralized Network Control - CNR

Centralized Network Control - CNR

IKOS is involved in the centralized network control project on several levels. This operation allows supervision of the signal boxes and the ability to control them remotely. This operation isn't possible without also making the substations controllable remotely. IKOS is participating in the remote-control regeneration studies that enable the control of these different substations. These include the electrical dimensioning of the high and low voltage supply to the units as part of the introduction of substation control centers (SCC).
